Perfect Fall Morning Routine

Fall is upon us, which means shorter days and cooler weather. With the sun rising later and setting earlier, it can be easy to fall into the trap of become less active. The lack of sunlight can lead to a lack of motivation and a desire to sleep longer and even eat more. However, you don’t have to fall victim to this trap! By sticking to a fall morning routine, you can ensure that you are remaining healthy, happy, and energetic.

If you are struggling to find structure in your fall days, consider this routine. You don’t have to follow it completely, but it should provide some motivation to come up with ideas of your own.

6:30am: Wake Up, Make Coffee

It can be tempting to head to the café to buy a coffee every morning but making your own gives you an activity to get your day started and your mind moving. If you are a coffee lover, you can try different beans and techniques which will provide a nice sense of variety.

7:00am: Get Kids Ready for School

Depending on your kids’ ages, they may still need help getting ready for school. Even if they are relatively independent, the morning is an excellent time to speak with them and wish them well in their day.

7:30am: Exercise

The thought of exercising so early might seem insane, but it is one of the best ways to provide your body and mind with energy to last throughout the day. Even a brisk 30-minute walk can be beneficial for your overall health. No matter what your preferred workout is, it is nice to get it out of the way first thing in the morning.

8:00am: Shower and Dress

You don’t have to break a sweat to deserve a nice, steamy shower in the morning! Whether your exercise was highly intense or relatively simple, a shower will feel fantastic and will help prepare you for your day. Just getting out of your pajamas will give you motivation to keep moving.

8:30am: Breakfast

You’re going to need some fuel to accomplish all your tasks. Prepare a balanced breakfast of lean protein, carbs, and fats to check all of your nutritional boxes. Eggs, turkey sausage, and whole grain bread are one option, but if you prefer something lighter, oatmeal with fruit and yogurt can get the job done just as well!

9:00am: Catch Up on Reading

Whether you are going through yesterday’s emails or reading your work assignments for the day, it’s important to have the rest of your day set out ahead of you. Get through anything that may have been sitting on the backburner so you can clear your time for today’s important tasks.

9:30am: Seize the Day!

Maybe you need to clean the house, or maybe you need to get to work! Either way, you should have enough energy and mental fortitude to complete all the tasks that you had planned for today. Once you get moving, you’ll be happy that you took the time to appreciate your morning and prepare yourself.
